Description
The author returns us to the Garcia family, who made their first appearance in How the Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents (1991). That book told of how the family came to New York City from the Dominican Republic when the girls were small to escape the horror of a dictatorial regime. Here the focus is on one particular Garcia girl, Yolanda, called 'Yo,' who has grown up to be a writer and, to the dismay of her family, has used them as fodder for her fiction.
